The BUICKS really
came into their own the day former Barfly frontman, Joe
Borghi came on the scene. That was almost 14 years ago
Joe joined the band and ever since, Joe has been the recognized
face of the BUICKS.
Before Joe, the BUICKS were like most cover bands and
made a good living at it. But it wasn't long before the
desire to take all these great musicians and make original
music struck him. Once that happened, the band slowly
transformed into what everyone see's today; one of the
tightest acts
in the region with truly original songs that have helped
to define the Philly sound. Songs like, "Don't Do Like
Dat", "Dirty Streets", "Sick of Your Shit", "Two Bare
Hands", "Perfect Woman", "Good Time Son of A Gun" and
so many more have become instant classics on the regional
scene.
On stage, there is no one better than Joe. His easy way
and incredible sense of humor have made him countless fans
and friends. It's no wonder the BUICKS have enjoyed such
a long and successful career.
In November of 2005, Joe Borghi was diagnosed with Stage
IV Squamous Cell Cancer. Devastated, the band threw a huge
benefit for Joe that saw over twenty bands and 700+ people
attend (a testament to his impact on the scene).
Today, Joe is now in full recovery from his Cancer and
continues penning classics for the band to perform. |
